A Spotlight On Abbey Tankers

On the farm, everybody needs to eat – especially your livestock.

And to guarantee that your herd has enough grass to graze on, a uniform spread of fertiliser is essential.

Say hello to Abbey’s comprehensive range of Tankers.

With over 30 years experience, spearheaded by industry experts in design and development, Abbey tankers are built to last with high carbon steel engineered for longevity with low maintenance required.

As regulations and production schedules become more and more stringent, Abbey machines are built to rise above the most challenging tasks. Their range of slurry tankers are designed to reduce odour levels while spraying and minimising nitrogen loss into the atmosphere – meaning fuller and healthier crops for your animals.

But how do you know what kind of Abbey Tanker is the right fit for you?

Abbey Single Axle Tankers

The Abbey’s Tanker range is full of brilliant features that will keep your grasslands fed – the Single Axle Tanker is no exception.

Built out of high carbon steel, with inner welding and collared dish ends for increased strength and durability gives this tanker the edge over its competitors. The Single Axle Tanker’s inverted splash plate, a unique characteristic of all Abbey tankers, spreads slurry widely and evenly across the ground with capacities ranging from 4,000 to 9,000 litres – making it perfect for smaller farms with softer soil.

Not only that but the single axle tanker’s hydraulic brakes and flotation tyres enables it to easily manoeuvre across rough terrain, whilst the parabolic lead sprung drawbar makes for comfortable towing for tractors ranging from 70 to 100 horsepower.

Whether you’re a seasoned farmer or it’s your first day on the job, you can rely on the Abbey single axle tanker to go the distance with you.

But what if you’re looking for a tanker with a little (or a lot) more power and capacity for your farm?

Abbey Tandem Axle Tankers

Need a tanker with a larger capacity? Or maybe you have a more powerful tractor you really want to test out.

The Tandem Axle selection at Abbey tankers is a big step up from the single – ranging in capacities from 9,000 to 18,000 litres, and requires tractors with a minimum of 100 to 200 horsepower to operate.

Not only superior in size, but the tandem offers excellent control and safety with the anti-movement internal baffles and weight-sensing spring drawbar. The weight management system and auto-fill enable you to be able to fill the tanker from the comfort and safety of your tractor seat.

If you’ve got a larger farm and the storage to match, then the Abbey Tandem Axle Slurry Tanker is the one for you. More wheels mean less ground pressure, so you won’t be wasting time stuck in the mud or chewing up grass – plus the larger capacity makes light work of a large scale operation.

Still not big enough for you?

Abbey Tri Axle Tankers

These behemoths are available in capacities ranging from 16,000 to 22,000 litres, and are perfectly suited on large or multiple farming operations. You’ll need a tractor running between 180 to 250 horsepower to get these tankers moving, but once you do – you won’t be looking back.

The self-steering front and rear axle, along with six flotation tyres on the ground, makes operating this beast easier than it looks whilst also being kind to your land below.

The Tri Axle Range from Abbey is nothing short of impressive and will keep up with even the most demanding of grass feeding requirements.
